Angry Birds GO: Rovio promises something new, A Go Kart Racing Game?

Rovio announced earlier this summer that Angry Birds Go will be releasing before the end of summer. Besides the name, there was no information available so most of it was left to speculation. Many people wondered about what kind of game would it be. Given the name Angry Birds GO, many knew it would have something to do with endless running like the very popular Temple Run and a recent hit Minion Rush. There was even an online poll that asked whether the fans would like to see a running vs. kart racing game. The results showed an even split with kart racer getting 50.1% of votes.

Today, Rovio released a video hinting at the possibility of Angry Birds GO being a kart racer game. The video below shows how they “tested” the two ideas and endless running game field test didn’t quite work out. The kart racer on the other hand seems to be the most favoured game. The video below clearly shows that Rovio has decided on Angry Birds Go being a Kart Racer game.

So get your smartphones ready as Rovio will be announcing this game very soon. We personally think that this is a much needed game on smartphones and a kart racer will be a hit game for Rovio. The majority of the population can relate to this genre as most of them have played Mario Kart growing up. If the past game releases are any indication, then the Angry Birds Go will be available on iOS and Android on launch day with a follow up release on BlackBerry and Windows Phone!
